    Position summary

    DevOps transformation at Mastercard by developing automation tooling and driving standards throughout the development, quality, release, and product organizations.
    Our team members have an appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation. We are responsible for automation standards with Mastercard, maintaining industry standard tools such as Chef, Jenkins, and Ansible, and working closely with other departments supporting BitBucket (git), Sonar, Artifactory, Terraform, and more.

    Own complex problems having dependency across services and facilitate cross-functional team interactions to drive resolution
    Define, design, and develop procedures and solutions at a service level to meet the business requirements/enhancements

    • Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners
    • Identify opportunities and build roadmaps to enhance primary service/function
    • Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery and development by actively evangelizing the need to automate and simplify where needed.
    • Provide development and architecture guidance to team members
    • Build relationships and effective partnerships across organizations

    The Automation Frameworks team is looking for a DevOps Engineer who can help us solve problems, build our CI/CD pipelines and lead Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices.

    Mastercard is seeking an engineer with experience in industry standard CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Chef, Maven, Git/BitBucket, and Artifactory. Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow that gets code from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort is required. Experience in administering Cloudbees or opensource Jenkins is mandatory.

    • Bachelor or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
    • Experience administrating Jenkins platforms and/or strong knowledge of writing Jenkins pipelines. **Candidate must be able to outline best-practices and help our builder community adhere to the same.
    • Demonstrable development experience must in Java and Groovy.
    • Experience and advance knowledge of Plugin development and Global Shared Library.
    • Knowledge in scaling Jenkins platform from controllers as well as agents perspective and manage overall Job workload.
    • Practical use of distributed version control systems such as Git
    • Moderate to extensive hands-on administrative experience with Linux systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux or Debian and/or their derivatives
    • Design, implement, and enhance our deployment automation based on Chef and Ansible.
    • Use Jenkins to orchestrate builds as well as link to Sonar, Chef, Maven, JFrog Artifactory, etc. to build out the CI/CD pipeline.
    • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
    • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
    • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
    • Take a holistic approach to problem solving, by connecting the dots during a production event thru the various technology stack that makes up the platform, to optimize mean time to recover
    • Self-starter who works with little direction, constantly seeks and advances new ways of doing things, keeps abreast of relevant technologies and trends
    • Ability to quickly learn fundamentals of popular scripting languages
    • Experienced with the consumption of IaaS and virtualization platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, VMware vSphere and Google AppEngine, OpenStack or Azure
    • Experience using one or more cloud management and/or orchestration platforms
    • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
    • Experiencing in configuring middleware and RDBMS software including JBoss, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
    • Applied experience with web-based deployments including SSL and certificates, load balancing and horizontal scaling
    • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills and the ability to effectively share knowledge via wiki-based documentation and presentations
    • Works well as a technical team leader in a highly collaborative environment

    In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
