    Overview
The Global Routing and Edge Caching Services (GRECS) team within Global Network Operations is seeking an Engineer to ensure Mastercard's global name resolution, addressing, and mail relay services are fast, secure, and highly available. This India-based role focuses on the configuration, optimization, and operational support of enterprise DNS/DHCP infrastructure (Infoblox/IPAM), F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM/BIG-IP DNS) for global traffic steering, and ProofPoint SMTP relays used for production email delivery.

The ideal candidate is passionate about core network services, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys solving complex challenges that directly impact Mastercard's always-on digital footprint.

    Role
    In this position, you will:

Operate and enhance enterprise DNS/DHCP/IPAM (Infoblox), including zone management, delegation, views, forwarding/conditional forwarding, DNSSEC where applicable, and DHCP scope design, policy, and reservations.

Configure and maintain F5 GTM (BIG-IP DNS) for global server load-balancing (GSLB): wide IPs, pools, health monitors, topology/geo-based steering, and disaster-recovery failover.

Provide operational support for ProofPoint SMTP mail relays within Mastercard's production environment, including diagnosing mail delivery delays, troubleshooting failed deliveries, and assisting application teams experiencing email-related impact.

Upgrade, patch, and maintain ProofPoint mail relay nodes; manage SSL/TLS certificate installations and renewals on relay infrastructure.

Partner with application, security, and platform teams to align mail relay operations with enterprise email delivery standards and compliance requirements.

Perform root-cause analysis and triage of incidents affecting DNS/DHCP/GTM or SMTP relays; drive swift mitigation and durable corrective actions within strict SLAs.

Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform/Ansible/REST APIs) for repeatable changes, compliance evidence, and configuration drift control.

Maintain strong operational hygiene: monitoring/alerting dashboards, capacity and growth planning (zones, records, leases), backup/restore, and change governance (CRQs).

Create clear runbooks/SOPs and provide knowledge sharing to peers and partner teams.

Participate in an on-call rotation providing operational support for DNS/DHCP/GTM and mail relay services.

    All About You
    You have:

Hands-on expertise administering enterprise DNS/DHCP/IPAM platforms (Infoblox strongly preferred), including advanced features such as DNS views, RPZ, TSIG/AXFR/IXFR, and DHCP failover.

Experience managing ProofPoint SMTP relays or similar enterprise mail relay solutions in a production environment, including diagnostics of mail flow issues and server health.

Familiarity with TLS certificates for SMTP, including install, renewal, and associated DNS challenge records (e.g., ACME/DNS-01).

Working knowledge of F5 GTM (BIG-IP DNS) concepts: wide IPs, pools, monitors, topology-based load-balancing, GTM/LTM integration, and DR patterns.

Solid troubleshooting across TCP/IP, routing fundamentals, Anycast, SMTP, recursive vs. authoritative DNS, caching/TTL strategy, and client behavior (Windows/Linux).

Experience building automation for network and mail relay services (Terraform, Ansible, Python/PowerShell, and REST APIs).

Strong communication skills to explain complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; a bias for documentation and operational excellence.

Curiosity and initiative to learn, mentor, and continuously improve systems and processes.
