- Oversee engineering, program management, field service, subcontractor management, purchasing, logistics, and site operations for CBTC projects.
- Provide leadership that fosters positive employee relations, strong collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Planning & Business Growth
- Collaborate with MELCO and MEPPI senior management to define CBTC strategy, goals, and long-term direction.
- Lead efforts to grow the CBTC business with support from cross-functional leaders.
- Prepare and present business plans for senior management approval, including organizational policies and operational strategies.
Customer Engagement & Industry Partnership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Transit Authorities in coordination with Sales and Program Management.
- Participate in customer meetings before, during, and after contract signing to support successful project execution.
- Collect and report market intelligence on industry trends, competitors, and customer needs.
- Approve cost estimates for sales proposals and assist MELCO in understanding customer requirements, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
Operational & Financial Oversight
- Work closely with MELCO Itami engineering teams to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Review activity reports and financial statements to assess progress toward goals and adjust plans as needed.
- Manage departmental budgets, facilities, and resources to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure all work adheres to MEPPI's Quality Policy and supports Environmental, Health & Safety programs.
Staff Development & Organizational Excellence
- Lead staff according to company policies to effectively meet departmental and company objectives.
- Develop employees through training, cross-training, and continuing education opportunities.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and provide salary and development recommendations.
- Promote strong communication, teamwork, and alignment across product lines and departments.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, selling, or servicing capital equipment.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge or experience with Communications-Based Train Control and/or railway signaling technologies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for engaging customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate complex contracts, proposals, and commercial language.
- Proven ability to foster collaboration and lead teams in dynamic technical environments.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and business systems software.
