Role Description:

As a Network Operations Shift Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our Network Operations run smoothly and efficiently.   You will be responsible for supervising and leading your team of network Operations Specialists and providing guidance and support to ensure that the network is running with out interruption.  The team consists of 25 engineers, based in 3 locations within the UK – Chester, London and Camberley.  This role is based in Chester. The team is part of a follow the sun model so this involves interaction with our global colleagues in the AMRS and APAC regions.

Responsibilities:

• This role involves interacting with clients at every level, from end-users to executives, to ensure clear and effective communication.
• You will handle client escalations with professionalism and a keen understanding of IT Service Management processes.
• Be capable of making quick decisions while maintaining a comfortable level of communication with management.
• You will lead a team of network engineers with responsibility for the global data and security network operations.
• During major incidents, you will manage incident calls, stakeholder expectations, and acting as bridge commander
• Be the main point of contact for Global Network Operations and ensuring incidents are resolved in a timely manner.
• Additionally, you will coordinate with cross-functional teams and external providers to effectively identify and resolve network incidents.

What we are looking for:

• The right person for this role is someone with experience managing network operations or related environment
• Previous experience working in a large enterprise or financial organisation is a plus.
• Comfortable with Cisco routers and switches and Cisco/Aruba wireless infrastructure
• You are knowledgeable of Fortinet/Checkpoint Firewalls; F5/AVI load balancers and McAfee proxy infrastructure
• We need someone who has in-depth understanding of ITIL including Incident, Problem and Change Management
• You have had exposure to risk management, audit and information security.
• Excellent logical problem-solving, verbal communication, interpersonal skills
• Ability to initiate action, collaborate with others, make tough decisions and accept challenging assignments.
• CCNA is preferred or other applicable technical certifications

Skills that will help (optional):

• Great communication skills (oral and written) analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting using tools such as Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes, and other fault management tools
