Primary Roles and responsibilities:
The Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) is responsible for monitoring, underwriting and structuring of straightforward credit transactions, primarily to existing clients with significant guidance from the Senior Portfolio Management Officer / Credit Products Officer / Credit Products Manager (Sr. PMO/CPO/CPM).
Portfolio Management Officers work on renewals/extensions, new exposures of lower complexity to existing clients and loan modifications (covenant waivers, amendments). The PMO also participates in the internal credit approval process, reviews and assists in the preparation of Term Sheets.
Other responsibilities:
Reviews loan documentation and participates in the closing process including coordinating with Credit Services and involvement in documentation/closing discussions.
Act as a general market resource at the discretion of the Credit Products Manager (CPM)for maintenance and monitoring responsibilities on credit relationships
Performs independent tasks of preparing and approving Financial Account Summary reports
Make recommendations that mitigate risks or remedy exceptions, under direction of credit team
Deliver financial, industry, economic and other analysis to facilitate decision making, while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements
Report to the Credit Products Manager (CPM) and partner closely with Credit Products Officer (CPO) and Wholesale Credit Admin Associates (WCAA).
Required skills:
BS/BA degree and / or comensurate experience
2 + years of Commercial Credit experience
Must have experience in commercial financial analysis, structuring and underwriting
Strong communication and solid analytical / technical skills
Ability to interact directly with clients on a profesional, consultative basis
Ability to multi-task and continually modify the priority of assigned workflow
Desired skills:
Auto industry experience
Formal credit training
Minimum of 6 hours of Accounting with a grade of “C” or higher
