We have a great opportunity at Marsh & McLennan Companies for a Bank Reconciliations Assistant to join our business and support the continued growth of our Accounting Operations division. Based in Witham, Essex, but part of a global team, the support this position provides will be vital in maintaining and developing the track record of success MMC has in ensuring all month-end and quarter-end deliverables are met.

We will count on you to:

• Bank outstanding clearance and daily reconciliation

• Investigation work to identify outstanding items including liaising with bank account owners

• Ensuring correct recording of the bank entries identified

• Reporting progress through KPI's

• Liaising with controllers to resolve inward and outward queries

• Monthly client money close reporting

• Quarterly cash in transit calculations and reporting

• Assisting with audit queries

• Monthly production & control review of all balance sheet reconciliations within functional team remit

• Journal creation, review and approvals

• Stakeholder management

• Regular communication with offshore team

• Assisting with ensuring procedures are continuously improved and documented

• Providing adhoc support to the Bank supervisor as required

• Bank specific activities

What you need to have:

• Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience working within a similar shared services environment.

• Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping

• Previous experience of Bank reconciliations in a corporate environment

• An excellent academic background, working towards an accounting qualification

• Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with both clients and colleagues within a fast moving professional team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
