We have a great opportunity at Marsh & McLennan Companies for a Bank Reconciliations Assistant to join our business and support the continued growth of our Accounting Operations division. Based in Witham, Essex, but part of a global team, the support this position provides will be vital in maintaining and developing the track record of success MMC has in ensuring all month-end and quarter-end deliverables are met.

We will count on you to:
Bank outstanding clearance and daily reconciliation
Investigation work to identify outstanding items including liaising with bank account owners
Ensuring correct recording of the bank entries identified
Reporting progress through KPI's
Liaising with controllers to resolve inward and outward queries
Monthly client money close reporting
Quarterly cash in transit calculations and reporting
Assisting with audit queries
Monthly production & control review of all balance sheet reconciliations within functional team remit
Journal creation, review and approvals
Stakeholder management
Regular communication with offshore team
Assisting with ensuring procedures are continuously improved and documented
Providing adhoc support to the Bank supervisor as required
Bank specific activities
What you need to have:
Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience working within a similar shared services environment.
Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping
Previous experience of Bank reconciliations in a corporate environment
An excellent academic background, working towards an accounting qualification
Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with both clients and colleagues within a fast moving professional team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
