Data Analytics Developer
Location: Westlake, TX or Remote
Marsh & McLennan is seeking a Data Analytics Developer in the Centralized Operations Data Analytics Group who will be responsible for using Analytics tools to derive information from data stored in silos. Develop use cases and data visualizations. Deliver value to the business from data analysis and document, catalog, profile, cleanse and audit the data.Create simple schemas and search indexes for each data set. Create standard profiles, and continually advocate for new data and improved data.

We can count on you to:
- Leverage Tableau to provide reporting on the status of severity issues, actions and resolutions
- Review incidents, changes and requests, making recommendations on trends such as excessive aging or incomplete troubleshooting of tickets. Maintain compliance to avoid risks of system outages or compromised data
- Perform in-depth analysis and problem determination/resolution as it relates to trends in areas such as Back-up, incidents, change orders and system metrics including capacity planning. Report and analyze system event and monitoring data and identify areas for automation
- Assist Data Center Operations managers in reviewing incidents, changes and requests, making recommendations on trends such as excessive aging or incomplete troubleshooting of tickets through the use of data visualization and dashboards
- Conduct statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification. Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems. Maintains analytical systems, data repositories and verifies the accuracy of the data, and acts as liaison with data owners
- Gather reporting and analysis requirements and translate into reporting structures data models, including aggregate tables, relational and dimensional. Profile and analyze source data to determine the best reporting structures
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to establish an analytics platform or/and standard procedures for use across the business
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with hypothesis-driven research (make and test hypothesis; implement experiments)
- Proficient in creating dashboards and complex visualizations using Tableau and other visualization tool
- Background in statistical methods i.e. correlations, ANOVA, resampling and effect size
- Problem-solving intellect, particularly challenging real-world problems
- Passion to apply data analytics to solve diverse problems
- Machine-learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, nearest-neighbors, support vector classifiers, ensemble methods, collaborative filtering)
- Algorithm development in main languages to our business (i.e., Python or R)
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Significant Concentration in a quantitative field
- Some Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments and infrastructure technology as it is the focus for data exploration.
- Algorithm Development in additional languages (e.g., Python, R, Talend and Bash Scripts)
- Work with colleagues to develop strategies and value from our datasets
- Implement scalable cutting-edge solutions with machine learning and models
- Develop POCs with quick turnaround to suffice the needs of business stakeholders
- Leverage data management processes, available infrastructures, and API tools to develop codebases and solutions
- Some proficiency with data integration platforms (ETL) preferably Talend or comparable technologies such as Informatica, Alteryx, etc.
- Algorithm development to analyze unstructured texts and run pattern analysis
- Communicate work to and receive feedback from technical and non-technical audiences
