Director Global Financial Controls Transformation

Marsh & McLennan is seeking a senior level Financial Controls expert who will be an integral member of our Process & Controls organization. As one of the six pillars within our Global Controllership function, Process & Controls is charged with ensuring Global Controllership operates efficient and effective standardized processes and a resilient control environment.

We Will Count On You To:
- Assist with shaping the Process & Controls function into a world-class SOX function, more specifically through:
- Developing and maintaining a continuous improvement approach to ensure processes and controls keep up with changes in business, organization, economy, technology, and accounting
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and other business partners in a way that fosters an open environment of continuous dialogue and information exchange, and yet challenges the status quo to continuously improve the control environment
- Maintaining awareness of significant changes impacting the business, both internally and externally, and ensure appropriate pre-emptive actions to modify/expand control activities to mitigate risk
- Introducing automation into the SOX process by working together with Controllership IT partners and control owners as they automate controls
- Assisting in implementation of Governance, Risk and Compliance Tool
- Transforming and documenting methodologies supporting our SOX framework
- Collaborate with the Global Leader of Financial Process and Controls on new initiatives
- Provide thought leadership and execution on strategic projects in Process & Controls
- Support project-based initiatives of senior management especially Global Controller
- Collaborate across other 2nd lines of defense and with the 3rd line of defense to embed a single view of risk
What you need to have:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
12-15 years of experience in Big 4 Senior Manager / Director Level
Industry experience outside of Big 4 desirable
Demonstrable knowledge of risk management and internal control principles
- Strong organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver results
- Solid decision making, analytical and creative thinking skills
High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency
Solid financial statement audit foundation and SOX experience
- Experience working in a large complex environment
- Agile project management experience
