Global Head, Learning & Leadership Development
The Global Head, Learning & Leadership Development is responsible for establishing our enterprise learning & development strategy in partnership with our Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Talent Officer, as well as the Chief People Officers and Senior Talent Partners for our four businesses Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman. This individual will play a critical role in our HR transformation as we seek to drive greater consistency and collaboration and adopt a One MMC approach. They will be responsible for defining our enterprise learning and leadership development strategy and delivering consistent solutions across MMC, while also identifying and responding to business-specific nuances that require additional programming or services. This position gathers inputs from and coordinates across the various HR and business players to ensure that programming meets evolving business needs and that we are building the workforce needed for our future. This role proactively identifies and diagnoses enterprise talent gaps, designing new programming as needed.
Talent Development Center of Expertise Description
The Global Head, Learning & Leadership Development is a member of the Global Talent Development COE leadership team and contributes to the definition of all aspects of our talent development strategy. This COE owns our enterprise-wide talent development strategy and program design to enable effective colleague onboarding and talent growth from within our organization. The COE provides strategy, design, and subject matter expertise to the organization on learning, leadership and career development, performance management, succession planning, as well as change management and organizational effectiveness, ensuring alignment between people and business strategies. The Talent Development COE liaises with our other HR COEs, People Strategy, and People Services to support program design and delivery where talent and performance programs are inter-related. The function develops and executes plans for internal communication, change management, and employee engagement. Responsibilities
Has primary responsibility for defining the organization's learning & leadership development strategy aligned with our enterprise talent models and business needs
Areas of focus will include onboarding, professional and commercial skills programming, people manager and leadership development, and cross-enterprise technical and regulatory training
Develops internally vs. acquire strategy for learning & leadership development curriculum and content
Consults with business and HR leaders to understand talent priorities, define learning and development requirements and ensure appropriate sponsorship, engagement and alignment
Drives for enterprise-wide standardization of learning & leadership development resources while allowing for region/business-specific nuances where necessary
Collaborates with the business and HR leaders to delineate between HR-provided and business-provided learning
Oversees the enterprise's digital learning strategy and the integration of its modalities into a larger content curation and portfolio management approach
In partnership with Global Head, Talent Development COE, develops pillar KPIs; Liaises with Program Heads to collect data and ensure pillar KPIS are met
Monitors external market trends and liaises with COEs in order to identify pressing talent gaps, developing targeted learning & leadership development strategies and programs
Responsible for managing and leading a team of ~30-40 people to deliver against three pillars Learning, Pipeline Development (Leader, People Manager and high-potential development) and Content Creation and Management
Oversees the design and implementation of the annual calendar of learning & leadership development programs, initiatives, tools and processes; Analyzes and reports on program roll-up and key themes
Manages labor, technology and expense budgets within pillar; Oversees selection, configuration and implementation of technologies
Works with People Services to identify opportunities to streamline processes without compromising alignment to business and/or regional needs
Organization, Reporting Relationship & Key Decision Rights
Individual sits in the Human Resources organization and reports directly into the Global Head, Talent Development COE and contains management responsibilities for three Program Leads Learning, Pipeline Development and Content Creation and Management. Accountable for enterprise-wide learning & leadership development program design and related policies, including oversight for business and/or regional deployment & adoption.

Global Head, Talent Development COE: receive guidance and ensure alignment with Talent Development COE's overall philosophy and strategy

Sr. Talent Partners for each of our four businesses: provide guidance/oversight as it relates to learning & leadership development programming
Sr. People Partners/People Partners embedded in our businesses: partner to liaise with business as needed on learning & leadership development programming and needs
Sr. HR Managers/HR Managers across the globe: oversee effective local program delivery
Other COE Leads: partner to share best practices and ensure alignment with overarching people strategy
HR Shared Services: oversee effective local program delivery
