What can you expect:
Marsh & McLennan Companies Corporate serves as an internal business function providing infrastructure and operational services to our family of companies
Marsh is a global leader in insurance broking and risk management and you will be based in one of our UK locations - you will initially work remotely and post Covid-19 flexible working is welcomed

You will be responsible for the Microsoft lifecycle strategy, development of test scripts in collaboration with application owners, liaising with core application owners and ensuring that MMC are always current with operating systems and version of Office
MMC have a strong desire to move lifecycle management from project tasks to standard operational tasks
Troubleshooting failed deployments and working with other Engineering teams to ensure upgrades and lifecycle management are as smooth as our patching process

We will rely on you to:
Become a true SME in Microsoft operating system, Office new features and updates
Develop operating systems and Office lifecycle roadmaps and policies
Ensure MMC are always current and that deployments of operating system and Office Feature releases are managed in the same way as patching
Creation of Windows Builds and Office packages and updates
Define and manage processes to ensure smooth migrations and upgrades - responsible for Windows device client lifecycle strategy and certification of new models
Form strong vendor relationships to stay ahead of new trends and changes in technology
Define methods for communications to keep business units, core application owners and colleagues informed of changes and upgrades, whilst promoting new features to all stakeholders
Test core applications against new releases, liaise with core application owners, support business testing strategy whilst moving upgrades towards patching model
Ensure maximum quality is delivered with each new OS or Office upgrade - continually asses MMC methods against industry best practice and drive towards excellence
Utilise tools that are available to ensure quality is maintained through the lifecycle
Work with Service Management teams to look for opportunities to improve build processes
Form strong relationships with all Engineering teams - produce release notes for all operating systems and office upgrades, and define and maintain hardware standards
What you need to have:
Strong experience in a complimentary role for a large scale organisation
Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies.
Experience performing analysis on trends and recommendation on reductions and improvements
Advanced levels using Windows client OS engineering, the creation of custom Windows client OS builds used for mass deployment in a complex, multilingual global enterprise
Strong in Windows automation tools such as VBScript & PowerShell
High level of proficiency in OS build and deployment tools such as MDT & Config Manager OSD Task Sequences

Degree - BS Computer Science, Engineering
