Consultants at NERA will have the opportunity to:
- Apply the technical skills and knowledge gained during their graduate studies
- Conduct high-powered economic research across a wide variety of industries

We are currently looking for a senior level hire to meet the growing demand from our client base and expand our offerings in the telecommunications, media and internet sectors in Washington, DC. Successful candidates will manage preparation of economic studies related to telecommunications, media and internet; the products are typically advisory reports and expert testimony. Other roles include communicating with clients, coordinating with subcontractors, preparing proposals and qualification statements for potential projects and assisting in the identification of new project areas. The types of analyses include regulatory support (advice, reports, and testimony regarding regulatory options, as well as productivity growth analyses for use in regulation plans), policy and litigation support from pre-complaint counselling through to discovery and trial, and as testifying experts or consulting experts.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record as an accomplished entrepreneur and business generator; proven success managing, developing and mentoring staff and prior experience working as part of a successful consulting organization. Recent consulting experience in the field of energy, telecommunications, or other regulated industries is highly desirable; much of the team's work focuses on telecommunications services - phone and internet primarily, with a mix of litigation and regulation work, testifying experience and recent publications is a plus.
Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation and project management skills, and the ability to think creatively to solve complex problems. Candidates should have completed their PhD and may have between 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
