Job Overview:
Oliver Wyman is seeking a Kafka Administrator with FinancialForce experience to join ourITteam. AsKafka Administrator, you will be the primary system administrator for the Oliver Wyman Kafka cluster. You will have ample freedom to adapt the current basic infrastructure to turn it into a fully optimized enterprise environment capable to power many current and future critical integrations. You will collaborate with IT colleagues globally including closely with the Technical Product Manager and Business Relationship Manager to chart the imminent and long-term future of Kafka at the firm.
**This is NOT a remote position and will eventually require a presence in the office.
Key Responsiblities:
- Manage and administer the overall Kafka infrastructure to ensure stability and reliability
- Participate in design and capacity review meetings to provide suggestion in Kafka usage.
- Provide strategic vision in engineering solutions that touch the messaging queue aspect of the infrastructure
- Implement new integrations - connecting business systems using best practices
- Monitor Kafka cluster connectivity, and security.
- Manage and review Kafka log files.
- Collaborate with application teams to install operating system and Kafka updates, patches, and version upgrades when required.
- Point of Contact for Vendor escalation.
- Support of Kafka integrations, including topics, producers, consumers, Schema Registry, Kafka Control Center, KSQL, and streaming applications.
- Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and tune to optimize Kafka performance and throughput.
- Take care of the day-to-day running of Kafka clusters.
- Create topics, setup redundancy cluster, deploy monitoring tools, alerts, and has good knowledge of best practices.
- Create stubs for producers, consumers, and consumer groups for helping onboard applications from different platforms.
Skills required:
- 3+ years of experience in architecture development
- Fluent English is the must
- Understanding of the Kafka components.
- In-depth knowledge of systems design, architecting and implementing large business systems.
- Basics of networking, CPU, memory and storage.
- Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong skills in Data Integration.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards
- Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of the Salesforce and FinancialForce data model and relationships between objects
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and fine-tuning alerts on Grafana desirable
- Familiarity with Informatica and Salesforce desirable
