The Opportunity**:**
Oliver Wyman is looking for a Marketing Manager for our Climate & Sustainability Platform.
Oliver Wyman works with clients on issues they face as a result of a changing climate and need to transition to a green economy.
Collaborating with a global team, the Marketing Manager will provide leverage to Climate & Sustainability Platform leadership in setting the content agenda, coaching and guiding writers, and writing and editing the content coming out of the Practice.
You will also play a key role in the platform's year-one growth, using tools like CRM to developing marketing lists and connect dots on marketing opportunities based on the firm's business development goals.
Finally, this role will also research, recommend, and manage the relationships for all event and strategic partnerships and sponsorships.
Key Responsibilities:
Serving as lead editor for content generated from the Climate & Sustainability platform: by developing an idea into publishable work, by collaborating with Partners and industry-focused Marketing colleagues, and by seeing the idea through publication in an appropriate format (i.e. POV, Op-ed, Letter to a CEO, article, whitepaper, blog posts, etc.) and in the highest-priority media platforms.
Serving as a trusted strategic content advisor to the Climate & Sustainability platform and to its Partners and Principals - including advising on the content agenda for the Practice and regularly weighing in on relevant topics, companies, research, and news events to be used as examples in our content.
Exploring new and innovative ways to bring our content and expertise forward, through events, digital mediums, partnerships, and other opportunities for collective action.
Developing strong relationship with Marketing counterparts, i.e. those responsible for Energy, Transportation, and Financial Services themes, as well as with Marsh McLennan Marketing and Communications, and the Oliver Wyman Forum.
As the Oliver Wyman Forum Climate & Sustainability initiative develops, plugging into new opportunities to build its work into the overall Climate & Sustainability Marketing strategy.
Coaching, guiding, and assisting Partners and others in developing their profiles in the marketplace as thought leaders, with an ambition to get them quoted, placed as Op-ed authors, or invited as speakers at industry events.
Leveraging a strong network of thought-leaders, journalists and editors, and others at major industry publications, think tanks, etc. to stay on top of emerging issues.
Helping to identify opportunities to build awareness and open doors, including: targeting and placing of articles/op-eds on top tier media platforms; monitoring and reporting on competitor activity and positioning in content generation and the media.
Working with our Social Media team on a strategy to support consistent messaging as well as targeted campaigns.
Overseeing Oliver Wyman's Climate & Sustainability web presence and maximize the opportunities to distribute our content through existing offline and online channels and new channels that form such as blogs, social media, videos, and others
Who are we looking for?
You'll have an in-depth knowledge of the climate media landscape, and the multiple tracks commonly covered at climate events. Experience in writing about issues related to climate change and/or corporate sustainability.
Excellent writing and editing abilities will be your strength you'll be able to write creative and compelling pieces with strong, rational arguments and to help shepherd the ideas of others, strengthening and sharpening their arguments while at the same time maintaining their distinctive perspectives and insights.
An expertise in crafting engaging, top-notch content across multiple formats (print, social media, web, etc.) will be essential, as well as expertise in planning events and juggling multiple projects.
You'll have a good general awareness of the corporate sustainability landscape, i.e. terminology, current trends
A strong network of thought leaders, journalists, editors, and others at major industry publications, think tanks, academia, and elsewhere will be required, so as to stay on top of emerging issues.
A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent experience with content creation is required a Masters degree is a plus.
A bit more about you
You'll be passionate about Climate & Sustainability and be able to combine this with your commercial mind to work closely with Partners to translate original insights, client work, and research into articles and op-ed pieces publishable in top business publications, white papers, and reports for clients.
Possessed of strong analytical and planning skills, you'll be able to assess the performance of our marketing efforts and understand and talk about the impact of our content creation, as well as budgetary impact
A creative and innovative thinker who pushes boundaries when necessary with a sharp intellect; you'll be self-confident and highly articulate, with an eagerness to excel, and with a style that is both proactive and responsive.
You'll have outstanding interpersonal skills, developed in a demanding and challenging international work environment and you'll be able to challenge the status quo constructively and accordingly, also possessing the social skills to create positive collaborative experiences with Partners that will lead to increased Partner engagement with Marketing.
You'll demonstrate a highly developed political antennae to understand and work within the contexts of the firm, but apolitical in all activities and interactions.
Adept at working in a fluid or unstructured environment where priorities often shift and deadlines are tight.
