Marsh McLennan Global Services India Private Limited (MMGS) is a global knowledge centre for the MMC Group and houses teams which work closely with the colleagues across various operating units and locations. This position will be based out of our Mumbai, India office of MMGS.
What can you expect?
- We are looking for a hands-on data science professional to join us to support the US based strategic risk consulting team
- The candidate will be working on risk modelling projects which will require end to end data capture, management as well as building risk-retention models using GLM, Monte-Carlo simulation techniques
- In this role you need to have a research mindset and ability to solve complex business problems using data science and engineering techniques
- You will also be requested to create process automation and make the process efficient
- The consulting team actively uses Analytics Hierarchal Process (AHP) to answer complex business problem by innovatively identifying and processing datasets
- You will be required to support and actively provide inputs in the AHP process, and provide prescriptive advice to the clients. You will need to use data science and engineering techniques to implement the process
- After initial prototype and testing, you will be also required to liaise with the Marsh Digital team to put the model into production on Marsh AWS production architecture
- Is able to harmonise datasets using AI/ML and parse information from scanned PDF documents, or web portals
- Develop, design and test data visualization reports, dashboards, KPIs, and insights in data viz. tools
- Develop tabular and multidimensional models that follow industry best practice
- Publish and schedule automated refreshes per business requirements

We will count on you to:
- You will work closely with the actuarial, business and digital colleagues and work on strategic consulting projects our past projects have been on building several risk quantification models like Cyber, D&O, Property, Pandemic to highlight a few.
- You should be able to demonstrate experience in actively participating in the process of building a model, incorporating features, tuning performance, and deploying into production, often working under tight time constraints
- Communicate the solution, its parameters, its assumptions and its inner workings to audiences who vary widely in their levels of technical fluency and seniority
What you need to have:
- An ideal candidate should be from strong data science and programming background who leverages AI/ML techniques to build sophisticated models
- The candidate should preferably, have experience in insurance/reinsurance industry in their data science & engineering team with up to 2-4 years' experience. Exceptional candidates from non-insurance background will also be considered.
- You should be expert in Python and/or R programming and is able to create production level scripts
- You should have worked on VBA Macros and an expert in Excel
- You should have worked on data visualisation tools like Tableau
- You should have an ability to deploy your model using web technologies, R Shiny or Django
- You should have an ability to handle data upload/download and create data pipeline procedures using Python and AWS
