**Underwriter I**

**What can you expect?**

• This position is for an individual with insurance and customer service experience.
• This position works with and is a source of knowledge for the call center colleagues when they have a client with more complex coverage questions.

**We will count on you to:**

• Classify and determine acceptable insurance risk for various medical professions by following specified carrier guidelines and applying critical thinking skills.
• Provide knowledgeable insurance information direct to customers or to client facing staff by phone and through written correspondence.
• Request additional information from the applicant/insured if adverse information is disclosed or information is missing in order to make a decision.
• Maintain business standards within the department.
• Ensure that all regulatory, compliance and transparency requirements are met and complies with all internal policies and procedures

**What you need to have:**

• Property & Casualty License (If you do not already have the P&C License, you must obtain it within 45 days of hire).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Basic proficiency with MS Office suite
