Underwriter - Professional Indemnity

Victor is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Milan office:

PI Underwriter

What can you expect?

Our aim is to become the first MGA in the Italian market and the first Victor Office in Europe .

This role will contribute to the growth the Financial Lines Portfolio by driving the business plans for our business development through underwriting new and renewal business; developing and maintaining relationships with existing intermediaries; assisting in product development and executing the FL strategies.

The incumbent will have the opportunity to learn from senior individuals within the Italian office and in Europe, being part of international specific working groups in order to increase knowledge and implement centralized best practices.

The ideal candidate will need to accomplish the following targets:

• within 30 days: understand duties, start establishing relationships with intermediaries

• within 60 days: partner with colleagues and intermediaries and start quoting business independently

• within 90 days: be autonomous in quoting and binding business, support intermediaries and write referrals to Carriers

We will count on you to:

• Review submissions including applications, policy wording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports while conducting appropriate research to determine degree of risk for each account;

• Proactively advise, assist, deliver and follow up with clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of their insurance needs;

• Control timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards;

• Review loss control reports and manage policy endorsement requests to process any necessary changes to the policy;

• Support the business plan and forecast; monitor financial exposure within outlined limits; monitor premium income to ensure it remains within set limits.

What you need to have:

• Min 3 years' experience gained within underwriting PI business

• Strong established customer/broker relationships

• Good knowledge of relevant market conditions

• Good knowledge of English

• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

• Ability to effectively negotiate

• Ability to analyse data and use them for decision-making
