BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The primary role of the Voluntary Benefits Analyst is to support Producers, Client Teams, and Clients by providing analysis and evaluation of products and carriers to support overall business objectives. Analyze demographics and existing benefits of prospective clients to prepare strategic voluntary benefits offerings. Correspond with insurance carriers daily to obtain plan details and product enhancements to clarify and streamline the product comparison. Prepare and present client-ready presentations used to deliver our recommended insurance carrier, supplemental health products, and voluntary benefits strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:
Determine financial viability of client opportunities through evaluation of key data elements;
Analyze existing benefit offerings and employee demographics to determine best voluntary benefit strategy;
Contact carriers to obtain plan information, rates, and underwriting policies;
Examine documents and create carrier and product comparisons;
Manage clients' benefits marketing process: data acquisition, RFP preparation, vendor question resolution, proposal review and analysis, exhibits, and client presentation preparation;
Research and remain updated on voluntary benefit products and legislation;
Perform competitive analysis within Voluntary Benefits vendors in order to support client needs and preferences;
Maintain strong relationships with carrier contacts;
Negotiate underwriting concessions;
Manage renewal validation, analysis and negotiation;
Attend client meetings and provide product support;
Answer client and internal questions regarding product provisions and rules;
Review communications and plan documentation to ensure accuracy;
Update and manage commission information;
Assist with various tasks when needed, including but not limited to: driving communication strategy and determining appropriate billing process;
Document and organize file activity.
Conduct and lead client meetings during underwriting phase
Developing client-facing sales and marketing materials using market and industry knowledge
Delivering consultative guidance to executives and senior leadership regarding their voluntary benefits strategy and benefits strategy as a whole
Negotiate with carrier partners on the client's behalf
Operate as a subject matter expert in the voluntary benefit programs
Support implementation and open enrollment communication efforts alongside the assigned Client Service Manager
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or preferred and/or equivalent work experience required
Minimum two years of experience in the Voluntary Benefits field, underwriting or risk management
Life, Health & Accident license desired; must pass and maintain license upon hire
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel is preferred (i.e. ability to perform pivot tables).
Underwriting experience in Benefits Brokerage/Consulting/Insurance and Voluntary Benefits industry preferred.

Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and process
Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness
Ability to work well independently and as a team member and effectively interact with multiple levels and departments within the organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) required
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong organizational, analytical skills and attention to detail;
Excellent troubleshooting, decision making and problem solving skills;
Ability to multitask and successfully operate in a fast-paced work environment;
Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines;
Ability to follow through on and successfully execute tasks while adhering to specified quality standards;
Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service and maintain positive relationships with client contacts;
Ability to remain flexible in certain situations surrounding client's needs
Proficiency in use of PC such as keyboard skills and electronic folder/file organization and management;
Strong self starter and fast learner including aptitude for learning internal systems, applications and internal work flow of the department;

WORK LOCATION
Work is typically performed either from a remote work location or on site at Trion's Conshohocken offices, or at various customer/Trion locations as required.
Must be able to work additional hours during peak periods.

This positions is not available to work remotely from Colorado.
