Within our Earthquake Model Development team at Moody's Analytics, where you'll be an integral member of the Earthquake Model Loss Analytics/Development group. In this role, you'll play a key part in advancing and analyzing our earthquake models. Your responsibilities will focus on examining earthquake model data, extracting insights, and providing actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with global earthquake development team to define goals, and project deliverables.
Analyze, interpret, and present catastrophe loss results to the group team, clients and other stakeholders as required.
Improve and evolve the processes and analytical tools used by team.
Assist in developing earthquake analytics team's project roadmap, prioritizing enhancement based on business needs, stakeholder's feedback, and market trends.
Research and stay current with industry advancement in earthquake domain translating insights into actionable product improvement.
Ability to work with spatial data formats to generate visualizations and process workflows in the form of reproducible codes
Effectively communicate complex technical or scientific concepts, both verbally and in writing
Qualifications:
MS or PhD degree in related fields: Earthquake Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Seismology or related field from top rated institutions preferably IITs, NITs.
Strong programming skills preferably in R / python using various statistical and mathematical packages.
Proficient in scientific interpretation of diverse set of observational data using statistical concepts.
Experience in large data set analysis and able to identify meaningful information out of it.
Familiarity with GIS and Remote Sensing tools and software's
Ability to create presentations or documents which can better express the context
Knowledge of Seismic sources and modeling techniques
Strong oral and written communication skills, able to present complex information lucidly to the team members.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and Excellent attention to details.
Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance domain and catastrophic modelling software (RMS RiskLink, AIR Touchstone etc) will be given additional weightage.
