Position summary

This position will report to the Associate Managing Director responsible for Moody’s Financial Institution ratings in Singapore. The AVP-Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of high-profile financial institutions

  • Managing all aspects of the ratings process from timely ratings actions to producing, high quality insightful and impactful research.

  • Communicating views to internal and external stakeholders.

  • The successful candidate must be ambitious, a team player, a critical thinker, with superior presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ratings quality: work with the analysts in Moody’s financial institutions team to foster critical thinking, healthy skepticism. He/she should have a proactive approach to managing the credit portfolio and updating processes that strengthen Moody’s ratings franchise and relevance.

  • Communication Skills: Candidate must be able to articulate, timely, insightful and relevant commentary to both internal and external stakeholders regarding credit issues.

  • Possess minimum 6 years of relevant experience in an analytical, research or risk management function of an established financial institution, publishing firm or international body. Candidate with lesser experience would also be considered.

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills

  • Broad familiarity with ongoing developments in the financial industry

  • A solid track record in writing either for an internal or external audience

  • Strong ability to articulate views orally both internally and externally including the media

  • Proficiency in English required and knowledge of a second ASEAN language preferred

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
