We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Professional to join our organization. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement a comprehensive risk program while providing support to the first line of defense. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across various business functions. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director of the Moody’s Local Group across Latin America.
Responsibilities:
Prepare regular risk reports for senior management, highlighting key risk areas, trends, and emerging risks.
Conduct in-depth analysis of risk data to identify patterns, correlations, and potential areas of concern.
Provide insights and recommendations based on risk analysis to support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation efforts.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure the risk program remains relevant and effective.
Stakeholder management:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk committees, compliance teams, and internal auditors, to ensure alignment and coordination of risk management efforts.
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote a collaborative and proactive approach to risk management.
Communicate risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines to stakeholders and provide guidance on their implementation.
Education: A bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), and Certified Risk Professional (CRP) are highly valued. Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably in a similar industry or organization. Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures is important. Previous experience in supporting the first line of defense and working collaboratively with other risk and compliance functions is beneficial.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess and quantify risks, analyze data, and develop risk models. Proficiency in using risk assessment tools and techniques to identify emerging risks and trends is important. The ability to interpret complex data and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making is highly valued.
Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate risk concepts, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. The ability to prepare clear and concise risk reports and presentations is essential. Strong influencing skills to promote risk awareness and drive risk mitigation efforts across the organization are also important.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and evaluate potential risks, as well as develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. The ability to make informed decisions in a timely manner while considering the potential impact on the organization is crucial.
Collaboration and Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and influence stakeholders to adopt risk management best practices. Leadership skills to drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk program and provide guidance and support to the first line of defense are important.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with risk management software, data analytics tools, and other relevant technologies used in risk assessment and mitigation. The ability to leverage technology to automate risk management processes and enhance efficiency is beneficial.
