The Moody’s Finance Transformation, Data & Systems team is seeking a candidate to fill its Senior Data Engineer role to support the implementation of a cloud Data Factory. You will be joining a growing Financial Systems & Solutions team and will tackle highly complex and interesting data challenges by building data models for our Business Intelligence, Analytics and Automation teams. This is a critical role where the Engineer will liaise with business users and IT teams in scoping of requirements, design and execution of Finance data initiatives.
Functional Responsibilities
» Design and maintain data analytic road maps and data structures that support business and technology objectives leveraging the AWS Archatecture including AWS Data Brew, Athena, Glue, Crawlers, Step Fucntions etc..
» Collaborate with Finance data stakeholders to better understand and deliver on reporting, analytic, predictive and governance related usecases.
» Execute on SDLC delivery, including waterfall, hybrid and Agile methodologies.
» Provide guidance and serve as point of escalation for complex data and system issues and formulate plans to analyze, identify, test and resolve issues with the team
» Perform knowledge transfer of new initatives to operational teams and provide assistance during hypercare periods
» Undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
» 3-5 years of experience in system operations and business analysis for IT related projects/implementation
» Technical experience with AWS Archatecture including AWS Data Brew, Athena, Glue, Crawlers, Step Fucntions etc..
» Strong background in SQL and/or python knowledge
» Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into clear business context as well as fully grasping business goals
» Financial domain knowledge with an interest in accounting processes and financial reporting and analysis
» Experience in SDLC and other project methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, etc.
» Well-developed data driven problem-solving and analytic capabilities, strong organizational, management, and communication skills
» Possess the ability to work with members of other teams across the organization and be sensitive to their needs and obligations
» Be able to pick up new software and systems quickly and self-train via all available training and internet resources
» Experience with PowerBI is a plus
