Position summary

The Moody’s Analytics Customer Experience & Innovation team is looking for a Director - Software Engineering to join our newly formed group. We lead innovation and help map the future for the organization, ensuring the creation of highly desirable high-impact products and solutions.

You will be responsible for helping to craft innovative products by working with highly skilled technologists. You will help build an agile approach to solution development to deliver scalable material products, and also undertake research and experimentation in new technologies to ensure we stay at the forefront of technology.

  • Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design, coding, and integration of new and innovative products
  • Build an engineering culture that is highly collaborative working with cross-functional teams
  • Passionate about exploring new technologies and helping the broader organization understand how they could apply to our business
  • Work with other Directors to continuously improve engineering and product development for the broader team
  • Work closely with HR on talent acquisition and talent management ; provide job descriptions, perform interviews, develop on-boarding plans, develop succession plans, etc
  • Grow and shape your team by hiring and developing plans for their careers, setting both long- and short-term goals
  • Communicate the vision from senior management and set and communicate business objectives for your team that align with this vision.
  • Think strategically and align your team with the overall vision of the business.

What you bring!

  • History of reliably shipping and scaling high-quality products where you set the technical vision and direction
  • Hands-on experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Proven track record of leading and running highly productive cross-functional engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other functional areas at all levels of the organization
  • Can communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading teams with both micro-service and monolithically applications
  • Experience with AWS / Google Cloud platforms. Building and managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps standard methodologies
  • Deep understandings of Object-Oriented designing and programming
  • Confirmed ability to lead a large, and/or distributed team that includes other managers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, consistently displays excellent presentation skills

Some combination of the following at senior level engineer:

  • Experience coding using general purpose languages such as Python, GO, Java
  • Experience building applications using frameworks such as NodeJS, React, Next or similar
  • Experience working with data structures and building microservices and APIs (GraphQL / RESTful)
  • Experience of designing and building serverless applications
  • Experience building for and developing on both mobile and web platforms

For Colorado-based roles only: the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 131500 to $ 190600, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual performance incentive compensation.
