Position summary

This is a challenging position within the Moody’s Investors Services Engineering team, working across MIS teams. You’ll be responsible for designing, delivering, operating and monitoring cloud native applications using both containerized and serverless technologies on public cloud while integrating with a wide variety of technologies across Moody’s Investor Services.

Additional job expectations:

  • Lead and manage implementation of complex engineering solutions across the enterprise
  • Challenge the status quo through intellectual curiosity and natural inquisitiveness to look beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Develop product roadmap, architecture artifacts and delivery strategy for engineering solutions
  • Establish and maintain development standards and prescriptions
  • Ensure deliverables across engineering teams are high quality and sustainable
  • Manage and appropriately escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the engineering initiatives to the stakeholders
  • Lead and provide technical leadership to architects, developers, engineers, and operators in geographically dispersed location
  • Display the highest level of personal integrity, initiative, and teaming abilities

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA, (Education may be substituted for increased years in experience on a year-for-year basis)
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT industry in relevant area, with at least 2 years of experience supporting workloads in public cloud (AWS)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and enable applications teams to develop best-in-class applications
  • Strong technical knowledge of digital environment including Mobile, Web, Apps, APIs, Messaging, Databases, Big Data, Networks and their Interactions
  • Development of security principles and controls for containerized platforms in a regulated environment
  • Experience creating web architecture designs that incorporate resiliency and performance
  • Has demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies, quickly and effectively
  • Proven experience influencing business and technology leadership
  • Coding skills beyond scripting including developing, debugging and optimizing
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Compute: EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda
    • Storage: S3,
    • Database: RDS, DynamoDB, Elasticache, RedShift
    • Security: IAM, Secrets Manager
    • Network: VPC + networking (subnets, routes), Route53
    • Management: CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config
  • Deploying, managing and monitoring applications in Elastic Kubernetes Services in AWS
  • Development of microservices and API development
  • Code: CloudFormation (YAML, JSON), Python, Shell, Powershell
  • Source code management tools (Git, BitBucket)
  • Experience interacting with APIs to automate processes
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from independent research
