    The Role / Responsibilities:
    The focus of the role is to assist with Corporation, GST/VAT and withholding tax issues in the APAC Region primarily for India. The role is based in Gurgaon, India and includes tax compliance work. The position offers a good opportunity for a candidate with a keen interest in tax to be involved in a wide range of tax issues.

    • Assist with preparation/review of corporate income tax returns, GST returns as well as withholding tax (WHT) returns.
    • Assist with preparation/review of tax payments - GST / VAT, WHT, advance tax.
    • Assist with review of tax documents (Form 15CA/CB) for remittances to foreign vendors.
    • Assist with data collection for tax return preparation, GST refunds, tax audits and transfer pricing documentation.
    • Assist with tracking tax assessment status and preparation/review of replies to be submitted to the tax authorities.
    • Assist with tax-related advice to internal stakeholders, helping to navigate complex tax issues and decisions. Conduct research on tax laws and rulings to support tax positions or identify potential tax-saving opportunities.
    • Assist with preparation of CbCR workpapers.
    • Assist with updating the tax registrations.
    • Assist with the preparation of quarterly calculations of current and deferred tax provisions under US GAAP for management reporting.
    • Assist with the preparation of true-up / return to accruals tax provision workpapers.
    • Preparation of tax journals and coordination with internal teams for getting the same posted in the books.
    • Assist with data collection for statutory and internal audits.
    • Reconciliation of balances and / or movement as per books with the tax returns.
    • Assist with the UAT on SAP related configurations/defects/upgrade.
    • Assist with process improvements, automation / standardization initiatives.
    • Work with other departments (e.g., finance, legal, and operations) to provide tax-related insights and ensure that tax considerations are integrated into broader business processes and decisions.
    • Assist the Global Tax Department on an ad-hoc basis with projects and other initiatives.
    • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations at both the central and state levels in India. Analyze and communicate the impact of these changes to relevant stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • CA / CPA with one to three years of post-qualification tax experience or Post Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of tax experience for India tax (preferably with the major accounting firm or a large multinational company)
    • Excellent Excel skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
    • Knowledge of a major financial system preferably SAP
    • Competent written and verbal communication skills
    • Working knowledge of various technology tools like Blackline, Alteryx, Power BI, Power Query would be preferable
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment and good interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Analytic skills, attention to details and pro-active approach
    • Fluency in English is essential
