What you'll do in the role:
The primary responsibilities of the role include the following:
• Portfolio Analysis using scenarios and estimation techniques, creating risk summaries, and presenting risk updates to senior management.
• Monitor market risks including the use of metrics such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), Greeks, limits, and scenario analysis tools daily
• Responsible for data management and reporting, including data analytics, KPI's, data quality enhancements, and the development and execution of controls
• Work on infrastructure projects to improve reporting capabilities and processes for more effective risk management
• Perform regular deep dives into the portfolio and ensure the Firm's inventory of key risks is up-to-date and accurate
• Maintain active dialogue with risk management colleagues, Finance, Audit, and IT
• Be part of various projects towards improvements/efficiencies of Market risk data infrastructure.
• Stay abreast of market trends, emerging risks, and macro-economic themes.
• Clearly communicate requirements to subject matter experts in our Technology team.
What you'll bring to the role:
• To be successful, candidates will benefit from relevant experience, a strong desire to lean and the ability to work in a small, specialized team.
• 2 or more years of experience preferably in Market Risk management.
• Good Understanding of risk management concepts and financial products across asset classes.
• Understanding of market dynamics and macro-economic themes.
• Balance between regular and development / ad-hoc related tasks.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate with senior management.
• Proficiency in SQL and MS Office (excel, word and power point).
• Strong quantitative skills acquired from disciplines such as engineering, statistics/econometrics, or finance.
• Ability to work in a small team environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications/Skills Desired:
• Prior VAR experience.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as R/Python.
• FRM/CFA or any other relevant certification course
