What will you be doing?
As a Sanctions Compliance team member in GFC, you will:
Assist in the ongoing development, administration, and implementation of the Firm's economic sanctions compliance program
Review and investigate escalated payments and/or transactions identified for potential matches to sanctions lists; ensure prompt handling and response
Address sanctions related queries from first line risk, business, and operations groups with respect to sanctioned products and related risks
Support reviews of highly sensitive client and transaction information, documenting results and escalating as necessary
Assist with ongoing maintenance and review of economic sanctions policies and procedures
Coordinate with the Risk Assessment team on the yearly economic sanctions Risk Assessment
Conduct ad hoc due diligence projects arising from the administration of the economic sanctions program
Assist with responding to regulatory exams and inquiries and internal audits, including overseeing document productions
Collect, interpret, and escalate metrics and other management information regarding sanctions compliance-related events What we're looking for:
A university degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials
Recent relevant experience within a Sanctions Compliance function, preferably at a large/complex financial institution
Understanding of the laws, rules, regulations, and industry best practice pertaining to economic sanctions, in particular the sanctions programs administered and enforced across EMEA and by OFAC
Knowledge of financial markets and products (in particular, Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities and Investment Banking).
Highly motivated self-starter able to work independently while collaborating and coordinating as part of a global program
Strong written and verbal communications skills with a high level of attention to detail
Sound judgment and ability to identify and escalate risks and issues appropriately
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and re-prioritise work in a fast-paced environment
Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within first 15 months of employment
