What you'll do in the role:
Work in a team of 7+ developers focused on ESG data, geospatial analysis, and climate scenario initiatives
Perform daily hands-on development in Python (preferred) or Java
Collaborate with stakeholders across time zones to design, develop, and deploy new capabilities
Collaborate with other team members and other teams within the Firm
Contribute to technical architecture and roadmaps for mission-critical systems
Follow agile methodologies
Contribute to an effective engineering culture
What you'll bring to the role:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on application development experience with strong Python skills (Java or C# experience is acceptable with willingness to cross-train)
Experience developing web services using Python frameworks with REST/JSON
Strong understanding of database concepts, particularly PostgreSQL
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (Angular or React) for front-end development
DevOps experience and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders
Preferred skills & experience:
Experience with ESG or sustainability initiatives in financial services
Background in geospatial data processing or climate analysis
Experience with data analytics, data science or visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI and Dataiku DSS
