In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff who do not work 100% remotely (including new hires ). Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 Exceptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. At Memorial Sloan Kettering, our social workers play a meaningful role in providing emotional support and guidance to people with cancer, as well as friends, families, and caregivers.

We are seeking to hire a Clinical Social Worker for our growing Pediatric Team in New York City, join us!

You Will:

⦁ Conduct screening and bio-psychosocial assessment of pediatric patients and their families to assess their distress & develop ongoing clinical plans.

⦁ Provide clinical interventions and modification of the psychosocial plan, ongoing clinical assessments, advocacy, and assistance with resources for pediatric patients and their families.

⦁ Collaborate with an interprofessional team to address ongoing patient needs.

⦁ Assist patients/families in accessing appropriate psychosocial services along the continuum of care.

⦁ Identify the unique needs of assigned service; develop and implement appropriate interventions and programs.

⦁ Produce quality documentation in the medical record and all written correspondence; and prepare Philanthropic Budget Sheets and other departmental-related documentation.

⦁ Focus on professional development through supervision of student interns; participating in team consultation, teaching and research, presentations at national conferences, and contributions to the social work/oncology literature.

⦁ Participate and serve on department-wide committees.

⦁ Work with Supervisor, Practice Group Leader and/or Director of Social Work on special projects as assigned.

You Need:

⦁ A Master’s degree in Social Work and NY-LCSW are both required.

⦁ At least 3 year of post-master’s work experience in a hospital.

⦁ Strong clinical skills with individuals, families, and groups.

⦁ Experience in pediatric oncology and/or palliative care in a hospital setting is preferred.

⦁ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

⦁ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Range: $72,600 - $112,400/annually
