    Basic Purpose

    The assigned intern would assist with the operations and coordination of various Volunteer programs and serve as boots on the ground support for volunteer events. This role would require strong organizational skills with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically, work collaboratively with a variety of partners across the organization and communicate effectively.  

    In addition, the assigned intern would serve as the key project coordinator for the implementation and administration of the software system(s) used to support the administration of programs.

    Responsibilities

    •    Provide support to assigned department; may work on small projects or portions of larger projects
    •    Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
    •    Event coordination and support (in person and virtual) to include:
         •    Volunteer Appreciation Week
         •    Volunteer events across the enterprise
         •    Corporate campaigns & DIB observances with employee activation
         •    Lunch & Learns
    •    Manage operational components of Volunteer programs and events to include:
         •    Schedule meetings
         •    Shipping supplies to stakeholders
         •    Documentation of meeting minutes
         •    Coordination and support of volunteer events
         •    Operational tools such as inboxes and calendars
         •    Creative production of presentations
         •    Operating procedures and playbooks
    •    Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
    •    Perform research and analysis; may include quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
    •    Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority
    •    Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support
    •    Provide support in functional areas of the credit union
    •    May provide direct member service in high volume situations
    •    Process and update data in automated systems; may generate and analyze reports
    •    Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports on corporate social responsibility outputs such as volunteer
         hours and philanthropic giving
    •    Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications 

    •    Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university
    •    Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    •    Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    •    Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
    •    Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions
    •    Ability to adapt to new technologies
    •    Ability to provide exceptional customer service
    •    Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
    •    Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
    •    Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    Hours: Monday – Friday, 20-40 hours/week, Flexible for classes

    Location: 141 Security Drive, Winchester, VA 22602 

    Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

    Salary Range: [$15.90 - $27.40 hourly]

    Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
