WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Country Controlling Manager in our EMEA Controlling team at the European Headquarters. You will be responsible for leading and executing a wide-scope financial activities in the Record to Report, Tax, and government related area for a group of related legal entities. With special attention to the legal entity integrity, this role will coordinate sometimes cross-functional deliverables and inputs of various teams. In the same time the role requires close connection to accounting operations for the legal entities in scope.
The ideal candidate enjoys working within a demanding and fast paced environment and a genuine interest/passion for sports and the brand will be beneficial.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Governance and review of accurate and complete country financial statements (US GAAP and management reporting) for a group of legal entities, following effective internal control framework
Statutory and tax documentation, reporting and compliance (all taxes: VAT, CIT, local taxes). Effective management of audits (internal, tax - VAT, income tax, transfer pricing -, statutory), Tax controversy and claims. Treasury related activities: e.g. cash/bank management and cashflow forecasting and analysis.
Your will also be an advisor to the Country/Key city lead on all Finance related matters. Ensure tight connection between Key City Leads and various functions in our European Headquarters. Team Management – direct or dotted line oversight of all Finance activities related to the country. Key contributor as part of the Controlling Team.
Important is effective management of country related finance processes. In this role you will delivers and seek out efficiencies and specific action plans for improving processes, integrating activities and optimizing department resources with a focus on value added activity
Lead Finance transformation for the country (e.g. Legal Entity Structure Simplification, Global Tax Transformation)
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The role reports into the EMEA General Accounting Director. In this role you will build and foster strong relationships within Controlling (value streams, Operations Centers of Excellence, The Source to Pay team), with outside provider (locally performed controlling scope), as well as with relevant business partners (Tax, Treasury, Legal, Workplace Design and Connectivity, IT, etc.) and external stakeholders (Banks, Tax authorities, Auditors, etc.) and be the first point of contact for these external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU BRING
Minimum of 5 years applied experience in accounting, ideally within the consumer goods industry
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance
Professional accounting qualification
Good MS Office and financial system knowledge (SAP preferable)
Solid accounting knowledge with respect to US GAAP and/or IFRS. Knowledge of other accounting standards is a plus.
Strong ability to seek information and problem-solve issues
Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks to various stakeholders.
Ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams and functions, preferably inclusive of navigating a matrix organization.
