    Who we are looking for

    We seek a Director of Advanced Innovation Engagement and Activation to join our Advanced Innovation Collective (AIC) team! We are looking for a Director who will embrace and lead change for the Engagement collective and communicate clear goals as well as roles & responsibilities across the team. You will drive clarity by leveraging insights to enable critical decisions for Nike storytelling priorities, clearly aligning these priorities across the team and amplifying these stories across Nike at the right moment. As a Leader on our team, you will inspire and recognize AIC teammates while showing AICs value to partners and teammates across the organization!

    What you will work on

    As a vital part of our NEXT% strategy, the Director of Advanced Innovation Engagement and Activation will work closely with Advanced Innovation Collective (AIC) leadership to shape and deliver the AIC's impact across internal stakeholders. This person will play a critical role in amplifying the portfolio, vision and operating model of AIC through three strategic pillars: creating pull for innovation projects internally, helping to preserve the intent and integrity of innovation through Nike storytelling efforts and fueling curiosity and collaboration across AIC within the function and inline partners. In this position, the Director will also partner closely with AIC HR to identify recognition moments and platforms, helping to inspire the team to deliver scalable impact.


    • Drive the creation / capture of differentiated content that supports our focus areas and priority projects as they move through the Code spine. Partner closely with Brand, Comms, or agency partners to transition stories in meaningful ways at Innovation Launch and beyond.

    • Oversee the creation of compelling internal content which inspires and recognizes AIC teammates while also showing AIC's value to downstream partners.

    • Infuse digital capabilities into storytelling opportunities using our own data, insights and tools.


    • Work in collaboration with the President of Innovation, Chief Innovation Officer and Sr. Director of Portfolio and Activation to set high-level engagement strategies for AIC employees, inline partners, athletes and other collaborators with regular touchpoints with AIC.

    • Evaluate and refine operational processes to improve coordination and efficiency with critical downstream partners.

    • Develop cohesive and compelling case studies around the value AIC brings to the enterprise.


    • Work closely with members of the AIC leadership team to coordinate the development of programming that showcase the best of the function.

    • Work to plan and drive ongoing programming of speakers, workshops, spotlights, and share-outs that serve both new and existing initiatives; develop and implement experiences for key AIC moments; and deliver inspiration and programming for the entire innovation ecosystem.

    • Network with industry partners and icons, lead discussions about prioritization and ways of working, help lead team gatherings, and fuel a sense of community within Innovation.

    • Lead execution and evolution of all internal-to-AIC communication channels and tools to ensure employees are informed and engaged.

    • Provide innovation storytelling training for select AIC employees to enhance their communication skills (Innovation Storytelling Program).

    Who you will work with

    The Director will report directly to the Sr. Director of AIC Portfolio and Activation, and partner regularly with the AIC leadership team to elevate people, projects and processes from across the function in the right moments to help wire the organization for success.

    What you bring

    • 9+ years relevant work experience in a related field

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

    • Executive level communication skills with the ability to influence multiple business partners across all levels with differing points of view.

    • Experience leading teams with a diverse range of disciplines, mentoring teams and fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.

    • Successful background working effectively in an ambiguous environment and navigating the corporate matrix.

    • Proven track record resolving complex business issues and making sound decisions.
