We are looking for an EHS Management Systems Lead who is passionate in ensuring employees have a workplace that is safe, healthy, environmentally compliant, and inclusive by using predictive data analysis and safety index calculations! Work in close collaboration with the Global EHS Enterprise team to help support Nike’s overall global EHS journey. You will be responsible for ensuring that Nike’s corporate EHS management system, all related data collection, reporting, policies and procedures are aligned with company needs and aspirations, as well as meeting applicable regulatory requirements. Facilitate our EHS management system performance reviews to understand risk, associated trends and will provide recommendations for continuous improvement and assurance activities. Facilitate discussions with our senior leaders on the overall EHS Strategy and Management Systems vision. As an Individual contributor role with a significant amount of influence, the successful candidate will have a strength in leading multiple projects and working closely with individuals in varying levels within the organization to support the Nike.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON:
Lead the centralized global EHS management system software platform for Nike to ensure it is effectively meeting the business needs to handle risks and achieve the goal of zero harm to people and the environment.
Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured/unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate useful insights and solutions for partners and product enhancement.
Builds "products" for Analysis. Interacts with EHS teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies substantial insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to leadership.
Conducts analysis of data and related information to identify trends and predict high risk areas. Provide feedback incorporating analysis with business units sharing updates and recommendations.
Serve as the primary point of contact and facilitator of the platform with regards to vendor engagement, support solutions, internal team integration, business requests, and cross-functional reporting.
Provide guidance and oversight leadership on both small and complex (multi-phase, multi-module) implementations and configurations.
Leverage Nike investments and strategic vendor partnerships to expand system services across functional segments.
Plan and implement system service delivery while effectively running key performance metrics for planning, forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.
Lead team driven requirements gathering, run gap analysis workshops, baseline and life-cycle assessments, partner risks analyses, planning, UAT and training.
Understand emerging trends in the field and benchmark Nike’s performance and management system with other companies and determine how to successfully incorporate new EHS strategies into current operations.
Represent Nike at industry/professional associations and consortium's.
Facilitate quarterly reviews with operations and EHS leaders across Nike’s operations in conjunction with external experts to assess changes in regulatory requirements.
Provide support to the audit process.
Supports the deployment, adoption and implementation of the management system on a global scale that extends across all Nike owned & operated functions.
Facilitates EHS knowledge sharing efforts, including identification, and evaluation.
Supports and leads the EHS Learning process.
Supports development and sustainability of EHS document and records management system.
Supports EHS integration into Corporate and business processes.
Participate on Corporate EHS Audit Teams, in support of the Corporate EHS Performance Auditing Program.
Provide Management Systems and EHS Learning expertise and leadership to the EMEA region.
Support the development, implementation of an EHS Learning strategy, model tools, communication plan, and standard processes ensuring consistency with the EHS Management System.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:
Peers and business leaders in Nike Global EHS, IT, Security, AirMI, Global Operations and Logistics, Retail Workplace Design and Connectivity, HR, Legal, among other functions, in both corporate and field roles. Engagement with external vendor partners supporting Nike’s Global EHS Management system as well as benchmarking with industry peers for collaboration and standard process sharing.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO NIKE:
Bachelor’s Degree is required; Masters preferred.
Minimum six (6) years of experience in an operating environment is required.
Background in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Science, or related technical field is preferred.
Familiarity with one or more EHS Software Management System vendor product suites (Gensuite, Cority, Intelex, Benchmark ESG, etc.)
Organizational Change and influencing experience is highly desired.
Knowledge of ISO 14001 Certification or ISO 45001 Certification within an organization.
Demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing EHS Management Systems, conducting audits and improvement processes across many facilities.
Demonstrated track record of leading and facilitating strong safety performance.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people and leaders throughout the organization and across a matrixed environment.
Ability to participate and assess large-scale internal and external issues that may impact the business in the long-term and take proactive action to mitigate risks.
Must possess excellent analytical written and verbal communication, consultation and influencing skills.
Knowledge and insight about environmental, health & safety concepts and standard processes and implications of emerging approaches.
Strong ability to run multiple projects across the organization and lead teams to success.
Knowledge of International, federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
