This role reports to the Production Engineering Director in the Taiwan PMO and will provide collaborative support for the majority of products within the Taiwan PMO, with additional support for select products in the Korea PMO.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    We're looking for a Principal Footwear Product Engineer for NIKE Sport Wear Energy to be an integral part of our Footwear Product team and help drive product excellence. As a Principal Footwear Product Engineer, this person will utilize advanced and diverse technical knowledge/experience to solve complex engineering challenges for highly technical performance products. Active engagement in innovative concepts/process initiatives will be critical. The position requires a balance of engineering expertise, strategic leadership, and collaborative teamwork to transform concepts and innovation into reality and ensure product excellence from concept through manufacturing. The ideal candidate is a big-picture thinker who can also attend to critical details and is passionate about engineering excellence, with a strong foundation in footwear engineering, chemical, materials, and manufacturing processes. As a member of the Engineering team, this person will effectively build relationships, lead, and interact with teams across NIKE Footwear Product Creation.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical degree with experience in a related field.

    • Minimum 8 years' relevant industry experience (chemical, manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering).

    • A subject matter expert in Footwear Engineering or Tooling Engineering with strong thermoplastic injection and foam (underfoot) development experience.

    • Solid knowledge of footwear lasts pattern engineering, test methodologies, costing and manufacturing.

    • Demonstrated critical experiences in Adopting and Driving Innovation through the INLINE Product Creation Process.

    • Demonstrated experience in driving product initiatives and/or strategy across Sports.

    • Performance footwear product experience is a must.

    • Ability to lead and coach peers inside and outside the product engineering function.

    • A leadership identity that fosters teamwork, instills trust and drive collaboration to deliver product excellence

    • Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills with the ability to simplify and convey complex information to various audiences.

    • Value differences and be able to work across cultures while navigating NIKE's organizational matrix

    • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

    WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

    • Work on highly technical performance and high visibility footwear products with complex engineering challenges and initiatives
    • Drive product excellence to support performance, quality, craftsmanship, and manufacturing efficiency within a collaborative team environment
    • Review physical and digital samples, Tech Packs, technical drawings, and 3D files across all development gates-from development through commercialization and manufacturing
    • Establish and implement engineering best practices across product creation and manufacturing processes
    • Apply a multi-solution-path approach and creative problem-solving to deliver optimal fit and comfort for consumers and athletes
    • Mentor and develop junior engineers in best practices, manufacturing procedures, and technical decision-making
    • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity, quality, and timely execution throughout the product creation cycle
