As a Software Engineer on the Partner and Marketplace Engineering team, you’ll bring a passion for building highly robust software systems which connect our customers and partners to our product at an unprecedented scale, across all of Nike’s brands, categories and geographies. You’ll bring not only deep technical skills, but also the ability to coordinate technical standards and processes. Your experience will encompass a full stack development environment, from backend services to front end web presentation.

Duties

You will be involved in designing and building secure, highly scalable and innovative full stack solutions in a continuous delivery model on the Nike cloud platform! This role will partner with leads and architects to deliver solutions that are robust, architecturally sound, easily maintainable and highly scalable for various Nike partner experiences and platform.

As a Software Engineer I, responsibilities include

• Work with product owners to understand the requirements, sizing up the work early, coming up with MVP for features and possible timeline goals

• Collaborate with other engineering squads to come up with end-to-end cohesive technical design and solution on new features

• Work with application privacy and security teams to ensure the application is properly architected, secured, and maintained

• Work in a fast-paced agile environment

• Solve big engineering challenges to serve our worldwide users at scale

• Deliver solutions using scalable, resilient, cloud-native patterns

• Develop/enhance tools and frameworks to improve the security, reliability, and maintainability of our cloud container platform, good understanding of distributed systems

• Deliver well-documented and well-tested code, and participate in peer code reviews

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Software development experience designing, developing, and testing complex solutions and code in Web technologies such as Java, Scala, Node.js/React or similar
• Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment (e.g. Amazon EC2, GCE, Azure, etc.)
• Experience in designing and implementing web services
• Experience in micro service architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful Services using languages such as Java
• Experience working with NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB or DocumentDB
• Experience with CICD, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests. Continuous delivery experience preferred
• Solid understanding of Scrum and agile principles
• Self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to optimally connect with both business and technical teams

*Remote Work Option – open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia.  These candidates will be required to relocate.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $98,000.00 to $192,500.00.  Actual salary will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
