Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented AFATDS Data Management Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The selected candidate will work closely with the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS). AFATDS is an automated Fire Support Command and Control (FSC2) system that processes, analyzes, and exchanges combat information among the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and other Joint architectures. AFATDS provides fully automated support for planning, coordinating, controlling, and executing fires and effects. It supports weapon systems such as mortars, field artillery cannons, rockets and missiles, close air support, attack aviation, and naval surface fire support systems.

What you will get to do:

  • Performs routine system maintenance and computer system administrative functions
  • Has knowledge of, and is capable of using, operating systems and database management systems
  • Performs analysis of system operations
  • Leverages experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of computer systems and individual peripheral devices
  • Stands ready for assignment to various CONUS/OCONUS sites for extended terms
  • Generates customer related reports from multiple sources, i.e.: Daily Activity Reports, Trip Requests, Trip Reports
  • Provides over - the - shoulder training upon request
  • Performs routine system maintenance and computer system administrative functions and must knowledge of, and is capable of using, operating systems and database management systems
  • Performs analysis of system operations and perform fault detection, isolation, and correction of computer systems and individual peripheral devices

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience with Army Battle Command System (ABCS) components
    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience with ABCS components
    • Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience with ABCS components
  • Certified in AFATDS
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint programs
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 50% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the operations of hardware systems and components
  • Experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components
  • Ability to conduct routine system maintenance and analysis functions including: hardware configurations; adding, removing and replacing hardware components; use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools; reading of electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards
  • Competence and confidence working under pressure on requests with short turn-around times
  • Excellent attention to detail applied to complex data integration and analysis
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
