The Configuration and Data Manager is responsible for the day to day execution of configuration and data management tasks within the project. The primary focus areas of the position are management of the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and DMS (Data Management System) for project scope.

This position is based at our office in Fortitude Valley, QLD.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and control the Configuration Management Plan and Data Management Plan for the program;
  • Ensure all project data and associated defining documents are correctly stored and recorded in the DMS and PLM;
  • Creating and enforcing policies for effective configuration and data management, including structures, attributes and meta data;
  • Develop knowledge of and operational skills using the DMS and PLM, becoming the 'go to' person for project records;
  • Ensure the information and management of data is implemented in compliance current standards; and is updated to reflect revisions to those standards;
  • Administer the initiation, review, authorization and change release processes for project and technical documentation;
  • Implement and manage a register of project data items to track status of document configuration, delivery due dates, approval/non-approval status, and relevant quality metrics to enable project management oversight.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Cert IV or above in Business Administration / Records Management or equivalent discipline (desirable)
  • Experience working in a Configuration/Data Management role in a Defence project environment in either Australian Defence Organisation or Defence Industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel.
  • Strong experience with use of SharePoint as a DMS.
  • Well-developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Defence security clearance.
