Propulsion Systems Group is recruiting for an Electronic Technician 04 to join our team at the Promontory, Utah facility.

Role description & Responsibilities:
An electronics maintenance technician is responsible for the repair, modification and maintenance of a variety of electrical and electronic equipment. The technician is required to perform tasks like wiring circuits, replacing components and repairing electronic devices. The technician performs routine electronic preventative maintenance on plant equipment including x-ray systems, CNC machines, auto claves, overhead bridge cranes, various PLC controlled systems, etc. An electronic maintenance technician also performs test readings using several different instruments, including semiconductor testers, curve tracers, oscilloscopes, signal generators and digital multimeters.

  • Maintenance activities to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions, conducts preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime

Basic Requirements:

  • H.S diploma or equivalent and 6+ years working in industry as an electronic technician
  • Valid driver license
  • Working on equipment, including climbing ladders to access equipment on roofs in all weather, using man lifts and scissor lifts when necessary

Education/Certifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience or equivalent training in Electronics Technology

Preferred skills:

  • Must be able to understand and follow electrical schematics proficiently without supervision
  • Familiar with machine control systems
  • Familiar with AC/DC drives and servo systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot (complex) machine control systems including PLCs
  • Experience working with 480 Volt / 3 phase equipment
  • Retrofit obsolete components and systems including controls
  • Familiarity of NDT systems, CNC machines, process/instrumentation controls, camera systems and fire alarm systems
  • Knowledge and experience using oscilloscopes and various high voltage measurement test equipment
  • Ability to interpret PLC logic as it relates to its application to process and equipment for troubleshooting purposes

Salary Range: $59,800 USD - $99,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
