Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an early/mid career systems engineer in support of the GPI Program in our Chandler, AZ office.

The selected candidate will work to maintain the architectural model, manage subsystem/component/assembly level requirements, participate in verification/validation planning, and support of integration and test. This position will require candidates to work with a team of systems engineers from a broad array of technical backgrounds as well as component design IPTs responsible for hardware development and integration activities. To succeed in this role the ideal candidate should bring a positive attitude, enjoy collaboration across teams and disciplines, and showcase a strong technical background. Candidate should have strong technical skills and interpersonal skills with project experience to demonstrate that these requirements are met.

This position may be offered at the Engineer Systems Level 2 or maybe offered at the Principal Engineer Systems Level 3.

Basic Qualifications:
If offered at the Engineer Systems Level 2 requires:
BS in Engineering plus 2 years related experience, Master's degree with 0 years of related experience.

If offered at the Principal Engineer Systems Level 3 requires:
BS in Engineering plus 5 years related experience, Master's degree plus 3 years of related experience or PhD with 0 years of experience.

  • Active Secret clearance is required for this position
  • Strong oral and written communication skill

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals
  • System testing and launch operations experience is desired
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum is desired
  • Experience with IBM Rationale DOORS is desired
  • Experience with SysML (specifically Cameo) is desired

Salary Range: $73,400 - $110,000
Salary Range 2: $90,400 - $135,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
