Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an experienced Engineer Software - Integration & Test engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
Candidates will work on software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test.

Essential Functions:

  • The selected candidate will to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and adapt to change.
  • Utilize familiarity of the full development life-cycle processes that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Candidate will use leadership characteristics in coordinating with multiple teams and managing tasks.
  • The role will be a hybrid of significantly diverse assignments in a collaborative/team setting across all levels.
  • Develop and execute software installation, integration, and acceptance test procedures.
  • Develop clear and concise detailed quality technical documentation.
  • Perform software integration planning and execution of separate software components into a single system.
  • Work with software developers and other engineers, as needed, to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software installation, integration, acceptance test, and operational events.
  • Submit detailed problem reports for errors found.
  • Work in both development, lab, and operational environments, and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's in STEM.
  • Experience in software integration, software testing, and test automation
  • Must have experience with formal software life cycle development methodologies, requirements through test.
  • Must have experience in Agile methodologies
  • An active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance with he ability to obtain and maintain program access.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Security+ certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Agile Systems Engineering Experience.
  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
  • Security+ certification
  • Experience with scripting languages (developing, debugging and maintaining);
  • Availability to support occasional travel.

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
