Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Flight Integration Assembly & Test Lab Manager 3. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here . Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:
The Flight Systems Missile IA&T Lab Manager 3 will support the Missile Integration and Test Director to clearly identify and focus on ground and flight test requirements, development, interface design, testability, verification and validation. The Flight Systems Missile IA&T Lab Manager will be responsible for the overall test and checkout and delivery of the missile to include requirements, test planning, test execution of all Ground Test and Flight Test Missiles and Product Support Equipment required to execute. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must be a driver and leader for collaboration across many different sub-IPT teams for a successful integration, test and checkout of the missile buildup.

In this position, the Flight Systems Missile IA&T Lab Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout - Responsible for the overall test and checkout and delivery of the missile to include requirements, test planning, test execution of all Ground Test and Flight Test Missiles and Product Support Equipment required to execute. Lead the test execution team in the development of test plan and procedure documentation, assembly and checkout procedures, and be the primary point of contact for coordination with the System Test Team for system level test execution.
  • Customer Interface Management - Will be a primary point of contact for internal and USG customer interaction and coordination and a representative of the flight systems test team for missile flight and ground test campaigns.
  • System Architecture and Verification Planning - Help lead the design and development of requirements verification decisions within the system architecture in coordination with systems engineering and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Design Change Impact Assessment - Ensure that approved design changes in hardware and software are compatible with existing components and subsystems, particularly for efforts requiring the support of more than one engineering discipline, through test and integration.
  • Multi-disciplinary Interface Management - Develop comprehensive design and interface requirements and lead the verification effort, ensuring cross-functional communication.
  • Requirements-based Testing and TLYF Management - Ensure program master test plans, integration concepts and integration flows developed by the Integrated Operations Team are constructed in a Test Like You Fly manner and verified.
  • Data Review Management - Lead the process and review products for formal data review and hold the engineering teams accountable for objective, efficient and timely review of test data.
  • Employee Management - Oversee the performance, progression and mentoring of the Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout engineers on the team. Authority to manage personnel and direct activities required to accomplish the statement of work.
  • Risk Management - Facilitate and own the risk management process and review board for test execution in coordination with the Missile Integration and Test Director and corresponding Flight Systems Risk Manager.
  • Schedule and Cost Reporting Management - Own the test execution cost account and perform reporting and status on a monthly basis through program management reviews. Accountable for the cost, schedule and quality of the Integration activities.
  • Travel - May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 8 years' experience, or Master's in STEM and 6 years of experience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
  • Minimum of 3 years of formal management experience to include performance reviews for direct reports.
  • 1 year of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either a project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to get special program access (PAR).
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 10 years' experience, or Master's and 8 years' experience, supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
  • Previous ICBM Experience is a plus.
  • Previous Experience standing up a lab environment/Hardware in the Loop test bed.
  • Knowledge and experience using CAMEO and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Principles.
  • Experience using DOORS Requirements Management Database.
  • Experience with Agile.
  • Active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Clearance.

Salary Range: $134,200 USD - $201,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
