Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 1. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program SDS Division.
What You'll Get To Do:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Perform customer requirements elicitation leading to Requirements Development
• Coordinate & collaborate with the System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering Teams
• Drive, lead and support system, segment, element and unit level trade studies
• Define high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation
• Support team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria
• Identify required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closure
• Coordinate and collaborate with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline
• Manage a team of high performing engineers across multiple engineering subdisciplines
Basic Qualifications:
• Current DoD Secret clearance with capability for SAP access
• Bachelor Degree in STEM and 5 years of experience performing in a Systems Engineering or related technical discipline
• 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
• Experience with requirements management and model based systems engineering principles
Preferred Qualifications:
• A current DoD Top Secret clearance
• Clearance investigation date within the last 6 years to have SAP access
• Experience effectively communicating and presenting to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
• Direct experience in requirements solicitation and decomposition
• Direct experience with Model- Driven Systems Engineering languages (SysML /UML) and concepts and CORE knowledge a plus
• Control Account Management Experience with earned value management execution experience in agile programs for systems engineering products
• Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills
• Certified Agile Scrum Master or Product Owner
• Proficiency in MS Office
Salary Range: $103,300 USD - $154,900 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
