Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is currently seeking an Instructional Designer / Instructor to join our Technical Training Team and support Propulsion Systems employees working at our Bacchus location in Magna Utah**.**

Role description & Responsibilities:
Instructional Design - Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), create and update company eLearning courses and stand-up training programs. SCROM authoring tool experience: We design all of our online courses using eLearning Brothers' Lectora, experience using Storyline and Articulate will translate well to this tool. Skills in creating engaging PowerPoint presentation are also required. Looking for someone who has a strong sense of visual graphics - proportion, color, and continuity of theme.
Class Instruction - We do stand-up instruction for groups of 4 - 40 people. Expect strong presentation skills and the ability to relate well with students in a classroom environment. Some classes are taught virtually via MS Teams - experience teaching in a virtual environment is useful.
LMS Administration - All company training is assigned and tracked using Northrop Grumman's company LMS, which is Cornerstone's SABA. SABA also stores all of our eLearning courses. Previous experience using any LMS is useful. Being a Database or LMS administer is even a bigger plus for this role.

Required Skills

  • Ability to take training goals and objectives and craft training stories that help learners engaged in the learning process
  • Strong presentation skills to provide instruction for numerous classes associated with OSHA compliance (e.g., Respiratory Safety, Powered Industrial Truck Safety, Crane Safety, etc.)
  • Familiar with current industry best practices for adult learning and Instructional Design concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel to our Clearfield and Promontory locations as required
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to obtain results by working with people of various backgrounds
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with MS Office 365 applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Report creation and analytic skills
  • Root cause identification and creative problem solving

Education/Certifications

  • BS degree with two (2) years of related experience or MS degree; Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or related degree. Candidates with similar degrees will be considered based on qualifications.
  • Position may be filled at a higher level requiring 5 years related experience with BS or 3 years related experience with MS.

Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
