HPC Software Applications Engineer

Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services organization is seeking a HPC Software /Applications Engineer. This position will be located in Redondo Beach and will support both open area and classified area systems (DoD/SSBI/SCI).

The successful candidate will have significant experience and working knowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC) systems and Engineering Applications. The Engineer will be responsible for parallel programming techniques, resource sharing and scheduling, high speed networking and parallel storage and memory technologies. The candidate will also be versed in MPICH message passing, job queuing theory and GPGPU systems.
Additional Duties Include:

• Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
• Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
• Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.
• Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and at least 2 years of relevant IT professional experience; 0 years with a Masters degree
• Proven experience with Job queuing, resource management & sharing
• Demonstrated experience with basic scripting languages such as Python, Perl and Matlab
• Experience with Engineering Application Installation and Troubleshooting
• Experience with Linux Operation system with System Administration skills
• Experience with HPC hardware systems, including Node structures, parallel storage systems, high performance low latency network systems.
• Active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates that have built both hardware and software parallel architected systems.

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
