    Position summary

    ustrial Engineer (Level 3)** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.

    The Industrial Engineering team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Palmdale. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for applicants that enjoy working with and learning from their peers and are not afraid to jump in and make a difference!

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
    • Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
    • Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
    • Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools
    • Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams
    • Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers
    • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
    • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance

    This requisition may be filled as an Industrial Engineer or a Principal Industrial Engineer depending on the qualifications below.

    Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer (Level 2):

    • Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 0 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience
    • Ability to work on an assembly floor
    • Experience with MS Project, Excel & PowerPoint
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet business needs
    • Ability to travel up to 25%

    Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3):

    • Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR PHD with 0 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience
    • Ability to work on an assembly floor
    • Experience with MS Project, Excel & PowerPoint
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet business needs
    • Ability to travel up to 25%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or other STEM degree disciplines
    • Experience with Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a shop floor manufacturing environment
    • Experience with data analysis and report programming (SQL, MS Access, Bus. Objects, PowerBI or Tableau)
    • Active DoD clearance

    Salary Range: $79,300 - $118,900
    Salary Range 2: $97,500 - $146,300

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
