    Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, is seeking a Manager Hardware Engineer 3 to lead, motivate, and support the Ground Terminal and Infrastructure Department, working as part of a motivated, diverse, and technically talented group located at a field site in Alice Springs, AU.

    Role Summary:
    The Rushmore program is looking for an enthusiastic, detail oriented, and technically minded individual to lead a highly specialized remote group of engineers in support of an exciting and critical mission.

    The Ground Terminal and Infrastructure (GT&I) Manager is responsible for the GT&I department which oversees the operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the ground terminal architecture at a unique customer location, insuring the availability of critical mission systems. You will leverage your technical and leadership expertise to provide time-critical response and coordination with subordinates, customer, and partner organizations in regards to complex communications systems and data links providing sustained operation while maximizing availability.

    • Provides Functional Management of the GT&I department within the Rushmore program by setting & operating to objectives & providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives & company policy. Conducts personnel performance reviews.
    • Program Manager responsibilities include: planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large technical services-type contract
    • Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy.
    • Responsible for all projects assigned to the organizational group. Helps meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Provide leadership and review of proposal efforts (e.g., BPEs, CROMs, ECPs)
    • Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies. Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate organizational units.
    • Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
    • Directly participates in establishing and administering many centralized functional projects. Develop and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 9 years of engineering experience OR Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 7 years of engineering experience.
    • Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.
    • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
    • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance / SCI Access plus a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance / SCI Access with a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination adjudicated within the last three years
    • Previous experience working on location and/or in the field to support the Department of Defense and/or the Intelligence Community
    • Effectively communicate and present to directors, other technical managers and customers.
    • Advanced level of understanding and/or direct work related experience with the operation, maintenance and repair of digital, RF, antenna Communication systems
    • Prior functional management experience of multi-disciplinary teams.

    Salary Range: $160,200 USD - $240,400 USD
