This position reports to the Launch Vehicles Business Unit, Targets Chief Engineer and works in concert with the GQM Program Management team. As the GQM Chief Engineer, you will join a staff of Program Engineering Managers that support program execution of ongoing development activities, multi-year production contracts, and a high operational launch cadence. You support the Targets Chief Engineer in technical oversight of the GQM program and ensure proper allocation and coordination of engineering resources through a matrix organization.
This position requires a BS degree in Engineering and 9 years of related experience; Masters degree plus 7 years of related experience.
Position requires 100% on-site presence.
Familiarity with LV engineering practices and command media.
Technical leadership experience or previous Chief Engineer experience.
Experience with integrated system management and broad technical oversight.
Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes.
Interim DoD Secret or Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
Ability to travel 25%.
Familiarity with the Navy Surface and Air Warfare organizations and their methods of technical execution and review.
Experience with tactical execution of field operations.
Familiarity with missiles and rockets including design, fabrication, and operation.
Experience with the functional management of PEMs and Chief Engineers.
Supervisory or management responsibilities for projects engaged in research and/or product development in more than one engineering discipline.
Salary Range: $156,000 - $234,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
