    Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Manager Programs 3, Product Support IPT Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Engineering organization supporting the Strike Division. This leadership role will be located in Palmdale, CA.

    The candidate selected for this leadership opportunity will be responsible for leading the Product Support IPT for a Strike Division Program, supporting multiple business areas.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • The Product Support IPT provides technical capabilities throughout the full product life cycle in these areas, as required by contract: Obsolescence Management, Technical Data, Reliability Maintainability & Testability (RMT), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) & Maintenance Planning, Modeling & Simulation (ModSim), Support Equipment Engineering (SEE), Prognostics & Health Management (PHM), Supportable Low Observables (SLO), Training & Training Systems, Support Hardware, Fleet & Field Support, and Product Support Management.
    • Leading the disciplines that comprise Product Support by championing diversity, equity, and inclusion to foster a high-performing, motivated and engaged culture.
    • Overseeing the application of processes and tools used by the Product Support IPT to ensure the engineers and technicians are trained, equipped, and empowered to support program execution, associated captures, and NCTA.
    • Establishing the vision and strategy for the Product Support IPT to execute SOW to accomplish program objectives in collaboration with the other IPTs, business areas, and Product Support functional discipline.

    This position will report functionally to the Palmdale Product Support Center Director and take day-to day operational direction from the Life Cycle Manager on the program. The position will be on both the program and sector National Product Support discipline leadership teams.

    Key leadership responsibilities include:

    • Providing guidance, shaping the Product Support strategic vision and direction, as well as providing oversight within the organization.
    • Leading the successful execution of Product Support work scope on the program.
    • Partnering with Leadership and other IPT Leads to collect meaningful metrics and collaborating to utilize those metrics to improve processes and tools that will result in improved affordability and quality on the program.
    • Identifying organizational risk and plans to manage the risk. Address performance shortfalls through root cause and corrective action assessments and develop containment and long-term corrective action plans that include long-term verification of successful improvement and sharing of lessons learned across the engineering organization.
    • Defining staffing requirements to maintain the Product Support staffing levels as needed to support the program and associated captures in collaboration with the Product Support functional homeroom.
    • Developing initiatives and collaborating with the broader engineering organization and TA/HR to reduce attrition.
    • Driving improved employee engagement and appreciation through verbal, written, and tangible recognition, events, and personal interactions.
    • Overseeing program reviews, independent technical reviews, program stand-up reviews, process improvement plans, and proposal review and signoff.
    • Providing insight and feedback related to yearly cycles for promotions, merits, and bonuses that affordably balances the experience base across the organization and achieves retention objectives.
    • Leading customer engagement activities with organizations dedicated to the logistical support and sustainment of our products after we deliver them.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must have a Bachelor's degree and 9 years of related professional/military engineering experience that includes a background in leadership positions, OR a Master's degree and 5 years of related professional/military engineering experience that includes a background in leadership positions.
    • Must have at least 5 years of either Product Support or DoD Logistics experience.
    • Must have proven leadership capabilities and communication skills.
    • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 6 years or is currently under continuous evaluation, and eligibility to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance/SCI prior to the commencement of employment.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
    • Current Special Program Access (PAR).
    • Leadership experience of a functional organization within the Aerospace and Defense industry
    • Working knowledge of all twelve Product Support disciplines, DoD Logistics, Sustainment, MRO customers, and military aircraft types/missions/execution capabilities.
    • Experience working across the total program lifecycle with emphasis on influencing design to optimize the fielded support solution.
    • Experience with or exposure to digital design initiatives and solutions to include Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Sustainment (MBS).
    • Program Management experience.

    Salary Range: $176,100 USD - $264,100 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
