Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for the Advanced Microelectronics Cell (AMEC). This position focuses on Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging. This cell has a large variety of manufacturing including both low and high volume mix.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the tasks outlined below:

Process Development

  • Developing new and maintaining or improving existing manufacturing processes with a focus on affordability
  • Creating and managing to project plans (tasks, resources, schedules) for process development activities
  • Providing ROI justification for process improvements
  • Specifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for production
  • Developing & optimizing process parameters
  • Developing/revising process documentation and work instructions
  • Assisting with design of custom tooling
  • Support manual and highly automated microelectronics machinery

Factory Support

  • Monitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements based on these metrics
  • Creating, validating and maintaining automatic equipment programs
  • Solving of manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, people) in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the training of new personnel and participating in the design of operator training materials
  • Supporting factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipment
  • Working in cross functional teams to execute RCCAs and lean initiatives
  • Interfacing with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues

Design Support

  • Recommending product design improvements required to produce advanced microelectronics products
  • Documenting state-of-the-art process capabilities and guidelines for product designers
  • Participating in design producibility reviews for new products

This position may be filled as an Engineer or a Principal Engineer based on the requirements below.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience (0 years with a Masters)
  • Fluency in MS Office software applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (3 years with a Masters)
  • Fluency in MS Office software applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with J-STD, MIL-STD and Space Class hardware requirements.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with automated equipment and transport systems
  • Experience with the design or manufacturing of microelectronics technology and materials
  • Process/Manufacturing Engineering experience

MANUMS

Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
