Northrop Grumman's Dulles Satellite Manufacturing Facility integrates, tests, and launches state-of-the-art geosynchronous satellites, low-Earth-orbit science and technology spacecraft, International Space Station vehicles, and a host of other orbit technologies.
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Tactical Space business unit. This position is located in Dulles, VA and supports the Integration and Test team. A competitive relocation package may be offered. Final grade level offered will be based on candidate experience level.
This position is a dedicated second shift role. Our department supports second shift activities year-round. Launch site support is required periodically. Occasional short-term projects with travel required. The overall travel requirement is generally less than 10%. A rotating weekend coverage plan allows Engineers to plan ahead for required support, but last minute requests are common to support the dynamic schedules seen in I&T.
Basic Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 2 years of experience; 0 years with Master's Degree
Principal Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; 0 years with PhD

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Salary Range: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
