The B-2 Flight Test team is seeking a candidate to fill the dual role of the B-2 Flight Test Engineering Manager and B-2 Flight Test Engineering Section Manager to lead a team of 10+ Flight Test Engineers, System Test Engineers, and Control Engineers.
The role of the B-2 Flight Test Engineering Manager includes being responsible for all facets of B-2 Flight Test Planning and Execution in multiple technology areas. Flight test planning includes requirements development, verification development, detailed flight test planning, and test event preparation. Test execution includes leading the conduct of ground and flight test. Candidates must be familiar with both facets with in depth knowledge in one or both areas. Candidates must be familiar with four primary technology areas; communications, defensive management, weapons integration, and navigation systems and possess an in depth knowledge in one or more areas. Candidates must be able to understand the role of flight test engineering, along with the roles of supporting organizations in executing flight test programs. Candidates must be able to provide leadership and direction to other Flight Test Engineers, System Test Engineers, and Control Engineers on a tactical and strategic basis, as well as, being able to perform Flight Test Engineering functions when required.
Candidates must be capable of supporting business development activities, support proposals (generate schedules and cost estimates), and support design reviews for B-2 and other platforms. Candidates must be capable of being responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance for various programs in the Systems Test IPT. This includes management of budgets using EVMS, EVMS reporting tools, accountable for cost and reporting any variances.
As B-2 Flight Test Engineering Section Manager, manage and support a 10+ member team working multiple platforms and projects in the Antelope Valley area in the area of flight test engineering. Requirements of this role include performing functional homeroom duties such as attending functional staff meetings, management of personnel (performance reviews, goal setting & coaching), coordination of job assignments, staffing, recruiting, developing process improvement plans and providing input, guidance and review for policies, processes and procedures related to the Flight Test Center of Excellence.
Must have excellent communication skills and understand both government and company flight test requirements and procedures. Must be capable of working in a heavily matrixed environment with multiple sources of management guidance. Candidates must be capable of supporting shift work including extended shifts, shift rotation, weekends and occasionally holidays. Must be able to travel in support of test activities.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (Prefer: Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering). Plus a minimum of 9 years of relevant flight test experience with an emphasis on test planning and conduct.
Must have an active DoD Secret and a background investigation within the scope of six years with the ability to obtain and retain a DOD Top Secret and SAP clearances.
Master of Science degree in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM),
Current Top Secret Clearance and current or previously held B-2 SAP accesses.
Flexibility to work additional flight assignments beyond the defined requirements of this position.
Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
